Sopore, July 03 (KNO): Inhabitants of Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have expressed resentment against the administration for failing to construct public conveniences in the town, thus leaving the residents to lurch at large. The lack of adequate number of toilets in public places has left hundreds of people, especially shopkeepers, students and others to suffer. The residents told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that that the promises made with the people vis-à-vis construction of public conveniences have never been fulfilled by the authorities. The main market in Sopore town attracts people from all three districts of north Kashmir to visit there, thus simultaneously witnessing a huge rush of people every day. However, locals said that the people coming from different areas are facing immense hardships due to the lack of toilets in the town particularly in the main market. Traders Federation President Sopore, Haji HashimuTullah Qazi told KNO that they have been assured several times several times in the past that public toilets will be constructed in the town but nothing has been done on the ground. “We approached almost all the people at the helm. But nothing favourable has been done so far,” he added. Sopore Economic Alliance President, Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganie said that he has written to the higher authorities in this regard. However, he said, “nobody pays heed to our sufferings.” Meanwhile in charge Executive Officer Sopore, Sameer Jan told KNO that three flush points will come up in the town soon and for that places have already been identified—(KNO)
